Norman Heinen

Norman E. Heinen, 88, of Sheboygan Falls passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center. Norman was born on February 29, 1928 in Gibbsville, the son of Abram and Johanna (Mentink) Heinen. He attended Gibbsville School. On November 10, 1949 he married Miriam TenPas of Cedar Grove. He worked the homestead dairy farm, hauling milk to Gibbsville Cheese, and was a technician for the Curtis Artificial Breeding Company. After the dairy farm, he worked fulltime for Ongna Wood products until his retirement in 2006. Norman was a member of Gibbsville Reformed Church. He was a talented wood maker, making many gifts. He enjoyed attending gospel concerts, going on rides, playing cards with family and friends. Norman is survived by his wife of 67 years, Miriam; one son, Dean (Jackie) Heinen; two daughters, Joan (Allen) Spindler and Kristine (Todd) Draeger; six grandchildren, Jeremy (Jennifer), Amy, and Joel (Angie) Spindler, Ashley (Jeremy) Setzer, Chad (Beth) Heinen and Travis (special friend Korreena) Draeger; eight great grandchildren, Julia, Justin, Joshua, and Jerrod Spindler, Olivia and Brynly Heinen, Gavin Draeger and Mason Setzer; one brother-in-law, Melvin Stugart. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Sally; brother, Donald Heinen; sister, Deliah Heinen and one sister-in-law, Ruth Stugart. A funeral service to celebrate Norman's life will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 11am at Gibbsville Reformed Church with Rev. David Krueger officiating. Burial will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg from 4-7pm and again on Friday, December 16, 2016 at the CHURCH from 10am until the time of service at 11am. A memorial fund for Gibbsville Reformed Church and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice is being established in Norman's name.
