Neil Beaton

Neil D. Beaton, 65, of Sheboygan died on Friday night, January 23, 2015, at St. Luke Medical Center in Milwaukee following complications from heart surgery. Neil was born on December 1, 1949, in Evanston, IL, the son of Wilbur and Margaret (Brost) Beaton. He graduated from New Trier East High School in Winnetka, IL in 1968 and then attended Lincoln College in Quincy, IL where he studied theater. Neil worked at RCS Empowers in Sheboygan for the past 18 years, He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Parish in Sheboygan and was very involved with the Sheboygan Theatre Company and Lakeshore Productions in Random Lake. He had a beautiful tenor voice and was part of over 88 stage performances. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially Wisconsin winters; and the time that he could spend with his family. Neil is survived by four sisters, Margaret Beaton of San Pedro, CA, Catherine (Robert) Levis of Antigo, Susan Mahoney of Orleans, MA, and Mary (Dr. Mark) Knabel of Kohler; three brothers, Daniel (Joyce Jordan) Beaton of Moraga, CA, James (fiancé Anne Bellefontaine) Beaton of Boston, MA; and Thomas (Janice) Beaton of New Berlin; and two sisters-in-law, Fran Beaton of Anna Marie Island, FL and Cheryl Beaton of River Hills, IL. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. Neil was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Wilbur Beaton; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Mahoney. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Neil's life will be held at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church on Friday, January 30, 2015, at 9:30 am with Fr. Matthew Widder officiating. Burial will take place at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Chicago on Friday at 3 pm. Family and friends will gather at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Thursday from 4-7 pm, and on Friday, at church from 8:30 am until the time of the Mass at 9:30 am.
