Neal Quaas

Neal Elmer Quaas, 67, of Oostburg passed away on Thursday, October 4th, 2012 with his loving family beside him. Neal was born in Cedarburg on November 3, 1944, a son of the late Elmer and Lucille (Stautz) Quaas. He attended high school in Cedarburg and joined the US Navy after high school. He served on the USS Atka in the North and South Pole. Neal went to MATC and then was employed by Allen Bradley/Rockwell International in Mequon as an electrical drafting supervisor for over 24 years, retiring in 1996. He also attended MSOE, and Bryant and Stratton while employed by them. On June 3, 1968, he married Pamela LeGear. Neal was a member of First Reformed Church of Oostburg and a member of the choir. He was a member of the American Legion since 2003, mentored Oostburg Elementary students, and was a Green Bay Packer Season Ticket Holder. Neal is survived by his loving wife Pamela Mae (LeGear) of 44 years, and his three daughters, Kimberly Marie (John) Quaas-Brill of Sheboygan Falls, Kelly Elizabeth Henry of Westlake, Ohio, and Michele Anne (Brian) Cooper of St. Germain; his six grandchildren, Devin Henry, Kara Menzel, Corey Cooper, Luke Menzel, Jake Menzel, and Ross Cooper; four siblings, Marilyn (Edwin) Harmening, Loren (Carol) Quaas, Valeria (Reuben) Heidtke, and Eileen (Robert) Loewe; two brothers-in-law, Douglas (Ernestine) LeGear and Christopher LeGear; mother-in-law, Lola Moser; his 46 nieces and nephews. He is further survived by other relatives and many friends. Neal was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Lucille (Stautz) Quaas; father-in-law, Werner Moser; brother-in-law, Warren Sekas; and nephew, Jeffrey Quaas. Funeral Services to celebrate Neal's life will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Reformed Church in Oostburg with Rev. Wayne DeVrou officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Town of Holland, with full military honors. Family and friends may gather at the Wenig Funeral Home, 108 Center Avenue, in Oostburg, from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, October 8, 2012, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
