Nancy Meta Walvoort, 77, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2015, at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Nancy was born on August 2, 1937 in Sheboygan to Alfred and Charlotte (Borngraeber) Gross. She attended Central High School. On November 5, 1955 she married Glenn B. Walvoort at St. Andrew Church in Sheboygan and renewed their vows on July 14, 2015. Nancy proudly stayed home and raised her family. Nancy was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church of Sheboygan and most recently of Faith United Methodist Church of Sheboygan Falls. While at Wesley, Nancy was a member of the church choir, a member of the UMW (United Methodist Women), volunteered her time to various activities and started the Loaves and Fishes food group. Nancy was a past Girl Scout Leader, an avid reader and loved to travel. She and Glenn traveled through every state except Hawaii, through Canada and Mexico. Nancy is survived by her husband of 59 years, Glenn; three daughters, Mary Walvoort of Sheboygan Falls, Linda (Kenneth) Abbott of Sheboygan Falls and Jane (Dan) Sukowaty of Sheboygan Falls; five grandsons, David (Lauren) Abbott of Milwaukee, Steven Abbott, Andrew Sukowaty, Benjamin Sukowaty and Jacob Sukowaty all of Sheboygan Falls; one brother, Alfred (Sue) Gross Jr of Elkhart Lake; two brothers-in-law, Robert Walvoort of Oostburg and George (Lennis) Walvoort of Tennessee. Nancy is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant twin sons, one brother, Jim (Marlene) Gross, sister-in-law, Lillian Walvoort, father and mother-in-law, Ben and Elsie Walvoort, one niece, Karen Cowdy and one nephew, Doug Walvoort. A Memorial Service to celebrate Nancy's life will be held 11:00 am on Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Faith United Methodist Church in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Susan Safford-Gaul officiating. Inurnment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park in the Town of Sheboygan. Relatives and friends may greet the family at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Wednesday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and also at the church on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. A memorial fund is being established in Nancy's name.
