Nancy Gooding

Nancy Gooding, 76, of Sheboygan Falls, died with her husband at her side on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Sunny Ridge Nursing Home. Nancy was born on October 26, 1936 in Bristol, Maryland, the daughter of Jalmer and Elizabeth (Hopkins) Lakonen. She graduated from Michigamme Michigan High School in 1955. She married Gordon Ellis and then married Ronald Gooding on May 18, 1974 in Sheboygan. Nancy worked at Bemis Mfg. for 18 years prior to her retirement. Nancy enjoyed playing cards, cooking and baking. Nancy is survived by her husband, Ronald; three sisters, Joyce Windahl, Shirley Niemi, both of Michigan, Dawn (Ronald) Doubord of Neshkoro; one brother, Jalmer (Arlene) Lakonen, of Michigan; a step daughter, Kim Hammond of Michigan, two step sons, Ronald (Janelle) Gooding of Sheboygan, Scott (Tracey) Gooding of Michigan; six step grandchildren, Holly, Amber, Tina Gooding, Kenny Verschoof, Vanessa Hammond, Tommy Gooding and four step great grandchildren. A funeral to celebrate Nancy's life will take place at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls at 2 pm on Thursday, June 20, 2013. Entombment will take place at the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum. Family and friends will gather at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Thursday from 1-2 pm.
