Myrtle I. Krause, 97, of Sheboygan went to her Lord on Monday, January 4, 2016 surrounded by her family at Golden Living Center in Sheboygan where she resided for 5 months. Myrtle was born on January 19, 1918 in the town of Lyndon to Elmer and Susan (Hensler) TerMaat-Lorenz. Myrtle attended Halls Crossing School in Glenbeulah. On October 17, 1936 she married Leonard "Buck" Krause in Sheboygan Falls. He preceded her in death shortly before their 60th wedding anniversary on August 14, 1996. Myrtle worked for Ross Glove for 18 years until her retirement in 1960. Myrtle was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls where she was active with the ladies auxiliary, funeral lunch committee and couples club. Myrtle and Buck were charter members of the Sheboygan Falls Snowmobile Club. They were able to go riding at Yellow Stone Park. Myrtle was also a member of the Town of Wilson Homemakers. She did a lot of knitting on her 3 knitting machines and baking cakes with her daughter until she lost most of her vision. Myrtle enjoyed taking care of her large garden until she was 96 yrs old, sewing and dancing, which she did every chance she had. She loved spending time at their cabin on Rollingstone Lake. Myrtle is survived by her daughter, Christine Schwonek; daughter-in-law, Robin Krause; grandchildren, Jerry (Yuko) Schwonek, Marcie (David) Laurin, James (Paula) Schwonek, Adam (Cyndi) Krause and Matthew Krause; 10 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Buck, a son, Lyle, son-in-law, Ronald, her brothers and sisters and their spouses. A funeral service to celebrate Myrtle's life will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 3pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Mark Janzen officiating. Burial will be at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Relatives and friends may gather at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 11am until the time of service at 3pm. A memorial fund to St. Paul Lutheran Church is being established in Myrtle's name.
