Myrtle Holzheimer

November 8, 1925 — April 2, 2016

Myrtle Lillian Holzheimer, 90, of Oostburg passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at her son's home. Myrtle was born on November 8, 1925 in Benson, MN to Luther and Mabel (Lee) Larson. She was a 1943 graduate of Benson High School. In November of 1946 she married Edgar Holzheimer. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1978. Myrtle worked at Agralite as a bookkeeper. Myrtle was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Benson, MN and attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. Throughout the years at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Myrtle was a Sunday school teacher, member of the ladies guild, and volunteered for various activities. Myrtle enjoyed quilting, embroidery, and traveling. She loved being with her family and enjoyed attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren's activities. Myrtle is survived by her four children; Allen (Bonnie) Holzheimer of Oostburg, Kaye (Jim) Jankowsky of St. Cloud, MN, Arden (Rhonda) Holzheimer of St. Cloud, MN and Arlen (Ceil) Holzheimer of Rockville, MN; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and one brother, Ronald (Alta) Larson. Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Edgar; her parents and one grandson, Aaron Holzheimer. Funeral services to celebrate Myrtle's life will be held in Benson, MN. A memorial fund is being established for the Gathering Place at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls in Myrtle's name. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Serenity Hospice and entire staff of the Gathering Place, the participants and especially Pastor Tom Gudmundson, Carol, Leah, Lynn, Donna and Mark for all the love, care and compassion that was given to Myrtle.
