Myron J. Schreurs, 79, formerly of Cedar Grove and Sheboygan Falls went home to his Lord on Tuesday morning, May 2, 2006 at Sunny Ridge where he had resided since August. Myron was born on December 12, 1926 in Cedar Grove, the son of the late William and Lena (Dana) Schreurs. He graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 1944. On May 6, 1949, Myron married the former LaVern Rauwerdink in Cedar Grove. Myron worked at Richardson Furniture Co for 12 years before his retirement in 1986. Previously he had farmed in the Cedar Grove area, worked at Cedar Grove Block and Tile, and worked maintenance for Oak Hills Bible College in Bemidji, MN and the Dallas Bible College. He and his wife were caretakers at Rochester Springs in Sheboygan Falls from 1982-90. Myron and his wife formerly attended the Sheboygan Evangelical Free Church and more recently were affiliated with Grace Baptist Church in Sheboygan Falls. He was a former Pine Haven Christian Home volunteer. Myron was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, going for walks, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, LaVern; three daughters, Mary (Bill) Wymer of Roan Mountain, Tenn., Joan (Doug) Wise of Renton, Wash., and Bonnie (Al) Stankevitz of Sheboygan; four grandchildren, Tammy (Slade) Harvin, Julie (Joshua) Woodall, Jonathan (Katie) Stankevitz and Sarah Stankevitz. Myron was anticipating the birth of his first great granddaughter, Evie; expected to be born later this month. He is also survived by one sister, Lorraine (Sam) Huibregtse of Cedar Grove; one sister-in-law, Marion Drier of Sheboygan; and two brothers-in-law, Warren Navis of Cedar Grove, and Don Heser of Minn. Myron was preceded in death by three sisters, Arlene DeMaster, Hazel Navis and Alma Heser. Funeral services will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Friday, May 5, 2006 at 11:30 am with the Revs. Larry Taylor and David Van Dixhorn officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Thursday from 5-8 pm; and on Friday from 10:30 until the time of service.
