Morgan R. Mannchen, 62, of Nashville, TN, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 28, 2011 in Sheboygan Falls. Morgan was born on August 16, 1948 in Sheboygan, the son of Robert and Verl (Busch) Mannchen. He was a 1966 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School and received his Bachelors degree in English from UW-Stevens Point. He married Sandra Lee Schneider, who preceded him in death on December 8, 1998. On June 23, 2007 he married Carol Beem Downton at St. Ann's Episcopal Church in Nashville, TN. Morgan was employed as a bridge designer with the State of TN Department of Transportation for 23 years. Morgan was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Nashville. He was a member of the Davidson County Sportsman's Club in Nashville and the YMCA. Morgan enjoyed reading, collecting guns and coins, sailing, fishing, laying concrete. He was also an avid Packers fan. Morgan will be remembered for his custom made, hand-crafted gun stocks and authentic replicas of historical ships. Morgan is survived by his wife Carol, his mother Verl Mannchen of Sheboygan Falls; several step-children and step-grandchildren; one sister, Karen (Bruce) Grimm of Potomac, MD; two brothers, Brian (Jan) Mannchen of Moyock, NC and Tim (Kristine) Mannchen of Savage, MN; and his cat Scoot. Morgan is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Morgan was preceded in death by his father, Robert and his first wife, Sandra. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 10:00 am at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery with the Rev. Helen A. Nickel officiating. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Nashville, TN. A memorial fund has been established in Morgan's name for the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
