Mildred "Millie" B. Riederer, 79, of Howards Grove, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 31, 2010. She was the under the care of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and the loving staff of Cedar Grove Gardens. Millie was born on June 4, 1930 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Andrew and Emily (Rauch) Groh. She was a 1948 graduate of Valders High School. On January 24, 1953 she married John George Riederer in St. Nazianz. John preceded her in death on February 2, 2008. Together Millie and John demonstrated their love and commitment to one another and generosity of heart by adopting three children, Mark, Jayne and James. Millie worked at the Salvatorian Center for over 25 years. She was a hard worker, helping John on the farm, taming ponies and milking cows. After moving off their farm in Whitelaw, they settled in Millhome for a number of years. Then after retiring, Millie and John enjoyed traveling in their RV to Texas for several winters. Millie loved spending time with family and friends and had a love of nature, especially birds. She was a member of St. Gregory's Parish in St. Nazianz and enjoyed playing dartball and attending her children's and grandchildren's special events. Millie is survived by one daughter, Jayne (Charles) Henke of Oostburg; two sons, Mark (Debbie) Riederer of Crivitz and James (Suhair) Riederer of Phoenix, AZ; 13 grandchildren, Chad (Sharon) Riederer, Shayla and Chris Anderson, Ashley (Alex) Nesemann, Cory Peters, Devon, Brandon and Tanya Riederer, Holly (Chris) Winscher, Laura and Christine Gries, Grant and Theresa Henke; five great-grandsons, Aiden and Dominic Riederer, Isaac and Jacob Anderson, Justin Gries; one sister, Rita Roeck of New Holstein; two sisters-in-law, Alice Groh of Kiel and Margaret Ann Groh of Columbus, WI; one brother-in-law, Norbert (Gertrude) Kabat of New Holstein. Millie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, nine brothers and sisters. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 5, 2010 at 6:00 pm at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg with Chaplain Dr. Robert Weber officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the Funeral Home on Monday from 3:00 until the time of the service at 6:00 pm. A memorial fund has been established in Millie's name. Millie expressed great gratitude to her family and friends who helped her over the past few years. Special thanks to Dr. Robert Weber, who watched over Millie and introduced her to the wonderful volunteers who enriched her life. Also special thanks to the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and Cedar Grove Gardens.
