Michele Martin

June 21, 1959 — May 25, 2017

On 25th of May 2017 Michele Rae (Shelly) Martin, loving wife and devoted mother, passed away at St Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee and went to rest with God. Shelly was my dear and devoted wife, my best friend, and my companion through the past 35 years of my life.Shelly was born the 21st day of June 1959 to Richard and Janet ("Sam") Provost, both now deceased, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. She attended grammar and high school there before studying in Green Bay and becoming a licensed dental hygienist. She practiced as a dental hygienist in Sheboygan for 25 years before retiring to be with and focus on our family. On the 25th day of October 1986 she married Gregory Dale Martin (me) and we have lived happily together ever since that blessed day. Shelly and I have two children together, Nicholas and Samantha, and she loved her two step children Jennifer and Emily with all her heart and as if they were her own. We have 4 granddaughters. Jennifer, with her husband Nathan, blessed us with Olivia and Lila and Emily, with her husband Rick, blessed us with Bella and Maya.Shelly was an extraordinarily talented gardener and the beautiful flower and perennial gardens around our home will be a constant remembrance of her to me. Shelly loved watching Sunday afternoon Packer games with me sitting by the fire and loved spending time with me watching the birds in our back yard. Shelly loved old movies and old standards music. Shelly and I shared many very happy times watching those movies and listening to that music together. Shelly was also a very talented artist. Her paintings and drawings will always be a comfort to me. Though she was always too modest to acknowledge it, Shelly was, without question, the best cook on this planet and I marveled every day at the wonderful meals she put on our table.Since my retirement in 2015 Shelly and I have spent the entirety of every day and every night together and both of us thanked God for one another each and every day. I have loved her with all my heart and will miss her every day for the remainder of my life. Her love was the greatest gift I have ever received and my greatest comfort in the best and the worst of times. I am thankful for every day I was able to share with my dearest Michele. I pray Gods comfort for her as she enters the Kingdom of Heaven.Private family services were held to celebrate Michele's life.I offer here my deepest gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the St. Luke's Medical Center Neuro Intensive Care Unit. Their skill and competence are beyond amazing and their kindness to me and to my family through this difficult time is very much appreciated.
