Michael Brethouwer

Michael R. Brethouwer, 52, of Sheboygan died unexpectedly on Monday morning, November 14, 2016. Mike was born on February 17, 1964 in Sheboygan. He attended Sheboygan South High School and then served in the US Army. Mike worked at the Kohler Co. doing building maintenance. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and all of nature. He enjoyed reading the Bible and historical documentaries. Mike was generous with his time helping anyone who needed help. He is survived by a sister, Stacie(Brethouwer) (Mark) Nelson of Kimberly; a brother, Martin (Robbi) Brethouwer of Winneconne; three nephews, Dylan and Aaron Nelson and Michael Brethouwer; his step mothers, Harriet (Mark) Gunn of Mt. Horeb and Mary Brethouwer of Manitowoc; three aunts, Jo (Keith) Wallner of Oostburg, Kathi Brethouwer of Random Lake, and Rosemary (Chris) Parker of Bethlehem, PA; six uncles, Donald Brethouwer of Sheboygan, Larry (Renee) Brethouwer, Robert (Yvonne) Brethouwer, both of Oostburg, Lyle (Deloris) Schoenfeld of Sheboygan, Steve (Kristine) Hildebrand of Cedar Grove, and Richard (Gwen) Hildebrand of St. Cloud. Mike is also survived by cousins and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Brethouwer; his grandparents, Raymond and Arline Brethouwer and Francis (Nelda) Hildebrand, and one aunt, Linda Schoenfeld. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Oostburg at 4 pm on Sunday, November 20, 2016 with the Rev, Brian Jacobson officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Oostburg Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Family and friends will gather at the First Presbyterian Church in Oostburg on Sunday from 3pm until the time of the service at 4 pm.
