Mary M. Dreiling, 83, of Kohler and a resident of Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls for the past two years, passed away on Thursday evening, February 18, 2010. Mary was born on October 8, 1926 in the Town of Mitchell, daughter of the late Joseph and May (Piper) Gahagan. She was a 1944 graduate of Waldo High School and the Sheboygan County Normal School. On November 28, 1953 she married Peter M. Dreiling in Plymouth. Peter preceded her in death on September 21, 1999. Mary was a homemaker and taught elementary school in Waldo for several years. She and her husband co-owned Hi- Lite Machine Co. in Sheboygan for many years with her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Genevieve Dreiling. Mary was a member of St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Kohler. She enjoyed needlework, soap operas, and spending time with her family. Survivors include two daughters, Judith (friend Ken Maitland) Dreiling of Sheboygan and Kathleen (Douglas) Pietro of Sheboygan; three sons, Peter J. (friend Lori Schaefer) Dreiling of Kohler, Raymond Dreiling of Glenbeulah, and Paul (Cathy) Dreiling of Manitowoc; three grandchildren, Marisa (Byron) Burton of Highlands Ranch, CO, Rachelle and Nicole Ketelhohn; four great grandchildren; and one sister, Eileen Tempas of Plymouth. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Peter, one sister, Jean Hurtienne, and two brothers Kenneth and Raymond Gahagan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 11:00 am at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Kohler with the Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Entombment will take place at Garden of Peace Mausoleum in the Town of Sheboygan. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Mary's name for the Pine Haven Christian Home. Mary who was quiet by nature, touched many people with her sweet and gentle way. She will always remain in her family's hearts as a caring and loving mother.
