Mary J. DeZoute, 70, of 729 South Sauk Trail Road, Oostburg died on Saturday afternoon, January 29, 2011 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in the Sheboygan Falls. Mary was born on September 29, 1940 in Sheboygan. Mary is the daughter of Willis and Mildred (Lensink) Veldboom. She graduated from Oostburg High School in 1958. On October 24, 1959 she married Richard DeZoute in Oostburg. Mary was a devoted homemaker and worked at Tolibia Cheese Co. in Oostburg. Mary was a member of the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove. She enjoyed the oudoors, camping, gardening, flowers, yardwork, word puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, and spending time with her family. Mary is survived by her husband, Richard "Dick"; four daughters, Teri (Chris) Nitka of Caledonia, Tami Martinez of Sheboygan, Patti DeZoute of Oostburg, Toni (Andy) Eggebeen of Hingham; one son, Todd (Debbie) DeZoute of Oostburg; 13 grandchildren, Chad (Melissa) Mentink, Nichole (James) Fischer, Jacob (Kristen) Nitka, Jason (Dana) Nitka, Timothy and Jessica Martinez, Amber and Jason Vangalis Jr., Joseph and Levi DeZoute, Abrianna Brand, Nick DeZoute, and Emily Eggebeen; eight great grandchildren; her father, Willis Veldboom of Oostburg; one sister, Donna DeBecker of Manitowoc; two brothers, Richard (Sharon) Veldboom of Sheboygan and Owen (Marie) Veldboom of Oostburg; and a brother-in-law, David Wallner of Sheboygan Falls. Mary is also survived by two very special dear friends, Mary Binder and Nancy Veldboom, both of Oostburg. Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Veldboom; a sister, Judy Wallner, and a brother, James Veldboom. Funeral services will be held at the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 1:30 pm with the Rev. Kent Vant Hul officiating. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in the Town of Wilson. Friends may greet the family at the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove on Tuesday from 4-8 pm, and on Wednesday, from 12:30 until the time of the service.
