Marvin Theune, 84, of Oostburg, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls with his family by his side. Marvin was born on July 7, 1932 in the town of Holland to William and Minnie (TeLindert) Theune. He attended Lakeview District School in the town of Holland. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1952-1956 and was stationed in Okinawa for 1 ½ years. On November 15, 1958 he married Delores Wieberdink. Marvin farmed for several years and later worked for Gilson Brothers and Dutchland Plastics. Marvin was a member of Bethel Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Oostburg, where he was a deacon and trustee. He enjoyed fishing, cutting the lawn, yard work, woodworking and attending auctions. Marvin is survived by his wife of 57 years, Delores; one sister, Margaret (Harry) Neusel; one brother, Warren (Mary) Theune; one brother-in-law, Wayne (Shirley) Wieberdink and several nieces and nephews. Marvin is preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother-in-law, DeLoyd and Esther (Meerdink) Wieberdink; brothers, Isaac (Dorothy) Theune, Raymond (Evelyn) Theune, Lester Theune and infant Donald Theune; sisters, Janet (Willard) Daane, and Ruth (Raymond) Otte and two sisters-in-law, Betty Lou Theune and Marilyn (Paul) Daane. A funeral service to celebrate Marvin's life will be held TODAY, Monday, August 8, 2016 at 5pm at Bethel OPC in Oostburg with Rev. John Tinsley officiating. Burial will be at Oostburg Cemetery. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday, August 8, 2016 from 3pm until the time of service at 5pm A memorial fund for Oostburg Rescue and Bethel OPC is being established in Marvin's name.
