Marvin Moenning

Marvin A. Moenning, 93, of Sheboygan, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Meadowview Manor. Marvin was born on November 7, 1919, in Sheboygan, son of Otto and Hilda (Klemme) Moenning. He attended Sheboygan Falls Elementary School. Marvin was a WWII veteran, serving in the US Army from 1941-1945. On April 5, 1947, he married Arlene Strong in Brillion. Marvin was employed as a millwright for Thomas Industries for nine years until his retirement in 1983. He was also employed with Kohler Company, Vollrath Company, Bemis Manufacturing, and Northwestern Railroad. Marvin was an avid hunter, fisherman, and motorcycle rider. He enjoyed "fix-it" projects. Marvin is survived by his wife of 66 years, Arlene; his three daughters, Donna (Marvin Parker) Lampe of Sheboygan, Joyce (Joseph) Ryder of Merrill, and Gladys (Michael) Richards of Sheboygan; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mildred Campbell of Sheboygan; one brother-in-law, Ronald Campbell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Arthur, one daughter, Marlene Moenning, one son-in-law, Jerry Lampe, two sisters, and three brothers. Funeral services to celebrate Marvin's life will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday, June 7, 2013, at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg with Rev. Rick Painter officiating. Military Honors will follow. Burial will take place in Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 pm until the time of the service at 5:00 pm.
