Marjorie Elizabeth (Reichert) Weeden, 96, of Hardy, VA formerly of Sheboygan Falls passed away. on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Runk Pratt Senior Living Center in Hardy, VA.Marjorie was born on July 9, 1920 in Sheboygan Falls to Hugo and Margaret (Kubel) Reichert. She attended school in Sheboygan Falls until her parents moved to Kohler in 1927. She continued her education, graduating from Kohler High School in 1938. On October 19, 1946 she married Frank Weeden at Grace United Church of Christ in Kohler. He preceded her in death on September 4, 1992. Marjorie was employed at the American Club and Kohler Company in the office.Marjorie was a lifelong member of Grace United Church of Christ, she was confirmed on April 14, 1935. She was active in her younger years with summer bible school, Sunday school, singing in the church choir, Ladies Altar Guild and serving as church secretary and treasurer. Marjorie was a member of the Kohler Chorus for many years and was also a member of the Sheboygan Falls Chapter #277 Order of the Eastern Star, where she held many offices including Worthy Matron.  When the Sheboygan Falls chapter closed because of the shortage of members, she joined the Sheboygan Chapter #139. There she became an officer, which included being chosen as Grand Representative of the State of Utah in Wisconsin.  Marjorie was active with Girls Scouts in Kohler and the Senior Citizens Group. After her children were grown, Marjorie was a nanny to many children in the Kohler Community.  Marjorie enjoyed traveling after her husband retired. Especially to Virginia, Colorado, and California. On their 25th wedding anniversary they took a trip to Hawaii.Marjorie is survived by two daughters, Laurel Sorter of Moneta, VA and Linda Sertich of Oostburg; two grandsons, Chad (Linda) Mahn of Sheboygan and Jason (Melissa) Sertich of Sheboygan Falls; four great-grandchildren, Dominic and Evan Mahn, and Sebastian and Cecile Sertich.Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; one son, Glenn; two sons-in-law, Richard Sorter and Robert Sertich; and one sister, Hazel Warner.A funeral service to celebrate Marjorie's life will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 11 am at Grace United Church of Christ, 500 School St. Kohler, with Rev. Jack Kraaz officiating. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery in Kohler.Relatives and friends may greet the family at the church on Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 9 am until the time of service at 11 am.A memorial fund is being established to Grace United Church of Christ in Marjorie's name.For online condolences and additional information please visit www.wenigfh.com The staff of the Wenig Funeral Home of Sheboygan Falls (920-467-3431) is assisting Marjorie's family with arrangements.
