Marjorie "Marge" Mae Hilbelink, 81, of Cedar Grove, passed away and went to her heavenly home on February 21, 2014. Marge was born on February 1, 1933, in Oostburg, to Herbert and Alice (Nonhof) Veldboom. She attended Jefferson Grade School and graduated from Oostburg High School in 1951. She married Ellsworth Hilbelink on September 14, 1951, at First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg. They lived in Cedar Grove most of their married life. Marge was employed with Musebeck Shoe Company and Cedar Grove-Belgium Schools from 1966-1980. Marge was a member of Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove, where she was a member of Calvary Bible League, the choir, the ladies chorus, and taught Bible class and Bible school. She was also involved in Mrs. Fikkert's "Spice of Life" and "To Tell the Truth" programs, and various other activities at church. Marge also worked with the girls Cedar Grove Pioneer Club and was a past member of Pine Haven Auxiliary. Margie was a caring and compassionate person, always thinking of others first. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed being with friends, watching the birds, and seeing the beauty of all things around us that the Lord had made, especially the fall colors. Marge enjoyed music and the words to the songs, traveling, and going on trips. Marge is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ells; her daughter, Mary Lou (Scott) O'Connell of Sheboygan; her two sons, Carl (Connie) Hilbelink of Oak Creek and Michael Hilbelink of Cedar Grove; six grandchildren, Sharon and Melissa O'Connell, Teresa Neumann, Amy (Andy) Martin, Paul Hilbelink, and Gina Hilbelink; three great-grandchildren, Austin Arendt, Christian and Chloe Martin; four sisters-in-law Nancy Veldboom and Margaret Hilbelink, both of Oostburg, Elvira (Kenneth) Janke of Sheboygan, and Marion(Virgil) Mullikin of Waldo; and one brother-in-law, Ernst (Betty) Hilbelink of Random Lake; Marge is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Robert Veldboom; and two brothers-in-law, Wesley and Gordon Hilbelink. A home-going service to celebrate Marge's life will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at Calvary OPC with Rev. Ronald L. Beabout officiating. Burial will take place at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Monday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and also at church from 9:30 am until the time of the service at 10:30 am.
