Marjan Zeinert

Marjan Zeinert, 61, of Port Washington, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center.

Marjan was born on February 14, 1963, to Ralph and Alma (Lammers) Neerhof in Sheboygan. She graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School and went on to Lakeshore Technical College for nursing. She later pursued certification in medical coding. Marjan was employed at the Aurora Sheboygan Clinic for 23 years and was a CPR instructor for 15 years. She also worked at Sommer’s Automotive.

Marjan was married to John Hameister on April 13, 1991, for 17 years. She was later united in marriage to Thomas Zeinert on May 19, 2015.

Marjan was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Port Washington. She enjoyed helping with gardening and decorating at church. Marjan had a love of animals, especially her cat, Mr. Puss, and took pride in feeding the wildlife that lived around her house. She enjoyed sewing, baking, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. 

Marjan is survived by her husband, Tom; daughters, April (Ryan) Van Asten, Erin (Jonathan) Castaneda; grandchildren, Cadence, Trace, James, Tyler, Riley, Juliana, Claudia; mother, Alma Neerhof; brother, Bruce (Sharie) Neerhof of Kohler; cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph and grandparents.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 5:00pm. A private family graveside service will take place at Hingham Cemetery at a later date.

Relatives and friends may greet the family at the funeral home from 3:00pm until the time of service at 5:00pm. 

Memorials are appreciated in Marjan’s name to St. Jude’s Children Hospital. 

Marjan’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses in the Surgical ICU at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center and Aurora Grafton Medical Center.
