Marilyn M. Risseeuw, 87, of Cedar Grove, passed away on Saturday afternoon, January 22, 2022, at Pine Haven Christian Communities - Haven Drive Campus.
Marilyn was born on July 31, 1934, in Sheboygan, daughter of Robert and Nelda (LeMahieu) Pietenpol. She was a 1953 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. She was united in marriage to LaMont Risseeuw on August 31, 1956, at First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls.
Marilyn worked for the Cedar Grove-Belgium School District for 25 years, primarily as a library aide, retiring in 1996. During the summer, she also worked for the Larson Canning Company.
Marilyn was a faithful member of Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove, where she taught Sunday School and Bible Class, youth group leader, and was active in the church choir for many years. She was a member of the Calvary Bible League and for a time was church custodian. Marilyn enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, reading, music, and attending church functions. Marilyn deeply loved the Lord, her husband, and family and devoted her life to serving them.
Marilyn is survived by her children, LouAnn (Jeffry) Holmes of Houston, TX, Sharon Risseeuw of Hampshire, England, Jeff (Paula) Risseeuw of Cedar Grove; 2 granddaughters, Alison (Nathan) Zimmermann of Cedar Grove, Mara (Zachary) Swanson of San Antonio, TX; 4 great-grandchildren, Elliana, Kinsley, and Josie Zimmerman, Eli Swanson. She is further survived by her brother, Neil Pietenpol of Tomahawk, WI; sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Robert) Bevans of Oostburg, Margaret Smies of Oostburg; brother-in-law, Allan Risseeuw of Cedar Grove; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, LaMont; parents; parents-in-law; sisters-in-law, Judy Risseeuw, Carol Pietenpol; brother-in-law, John Smies; nephew, Brian Pietenpol.
A funeral service for Marilyn will be held at Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Friday, January 28, 2022, at 11:30am. Visitation will take place from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:30 am Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
