She graduated from Trinity Grade School, attended Sheboygan Falls High School and graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1974. Marilyn graduated from Lakeshore Technical College, receiving certification as a clerk typist and certified nursing assistant. She later was employed at Morningside and Sunny Ridge Nursing Homes. On July 14, 1979 she married Wayne LeClair at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she served as a Steven Minister ( a spiritual caregiver) and volunteered in many areas of the church and school. She loved animals, including her cat, Taco and her dog, Nikki. Camping with her family and celebrating holidays with them were highlights of her life. She enjoyed reading, playing board games, and shopping with her daughter, Laura. Marilyn loved life and will be remembered for her laugh, and the sparkle in her eyes, often causing others to smile in return. After being diagnosed with her illness, she was pleased to celebrate her goals of seeing her children married and being blessed with a grandson, whom she loved and adored. Marilyn always thought of others first and in her kind and gentle way, prayed for the many needs of others even in the final days of her illness. She loved the color purple, and her family requests you wear something purple to honor her love of the Lenten season and to celebrate her life.
