Marian LeMahieu

Marian S. LeMahieu, 86, of 642 David Avenue, Sheboygan Falls, died on Friday, June 5, 2009 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls. Marian was born on June 21, 1922 in Sheboygan, the daughter of the late Henry and Verna (Van Ouwerkerk) Schumann. She was a 1940 graduate of Kohler High School. On October 15, 1949 she married George LeMahieu in Sheboygan Falls. George preceded her in death on May 10, 1964. Marian was briefly employed with the H.C. Prange Co. in Sheboygan and at the Kohler Co. prior to her marriage. Later she was a library assistant with Sheboygan Falls Elementary School for 10 years until she retired in 1977. Marian was a member of St. Peter Episcopal Church in Sheboygan Falls, where she served as a member and clerk of the Vestry and also served on the Search Committee. Marian was an active volunteer for the Red Cross, the Sheboygan Falls Food Pantry, the school reading program for both Jefferson School and Sheboygan Falls Elementary School, and a 40 year volunteer at Aurora Sheboygan Medical Center. Marian enjoyed traveling, oil and acrylic painting, gardening, reading, birdwatching, and swimming. Survivors include two sons, Randy (Terri) LeMahieu of Sheboygan, and Rick LeMahieu of Sheboygan Falls; two grandchildren, Sarah and Lisa LeMahieu of Sheboygan. Marian was preceded in death by her husband, George, and her sister Evangeline (John) Stroo. Memorial services will be held at St. Peter Episcopal Church in Sheboygan Falls on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 6:00 pm with the Fr. Sam Nsengiyumva officiating. Burial will take place at the Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until the time of the 6:00 service. A memorial fund has been established in her name for the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice .
