Margie A. Stokdyk, 74, of Oostburg, passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 22, 2012, at St. Nicholas Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Margie was born September 14, 1937, in Sheboygan to Frederick and Edith (Lawrence) Baetz. She was a 1955 graduate from Sheboygan Central High School. On October 3, 1959, Margie married Wayne Stokdyk at Fountain Park United Methodist Church in Sheboygan. Margie was a lifelong member of Fountain Park United Methodist Church in Sheboygan where she was secretary and financial secretary. She served on numerous church boards as well as participating in most church activities. Margie was instrumental in starting the Sunday worship service at the Sheboygan County Fair. She was a 50 year member of Merry Matrons HCE Club. Margie also was involved with the Elms Youth Band and Parents in Action, while her children were in school. Margie loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed baking, knitting, cross stitching, and collecting angels. Margie is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Wayne; one daughter, Myra (Don) Eischen of Cascade; one son, Warren (Sue) Stokdyk of Gibbsville; two grandchildren, Matthew and Janna Stokdyk; one sister, Betty Blanke of Kiel; one brother, Bill (Kaylene) Baetz of Sheboygan; two brothers-in-law, Mark (Dianne) Stokdyk of Plymouth and Virgil (Marion) Mullikin of Hingham; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn (Lowell) Kappers of Cedar Grove and Janet Sand of Kiel; nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family, because no one was ever turned away without a meal. Margie was preceded in death by her parents; one sister-in-law, Eleanor Mullikin; two brothers-in-law, Fred Marksthaler and Fred Sand. Funeral services to celebrate Margie's life will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Fountain Park United Methodist Church in Sheboygan with Rev. Warren Waddell officiating. Private family interment will at 10:00 am Thursday in Hingham Cemetery prior to the service. Relatives and friends may greet Margie's family from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg and from 12 - 1 pm prior to the service Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Margie's name for Fountain Park United Methodist Church kitchen fund, Oostburg Ambulance, and Adell First Responders.
