Mardell Binder

Mardell J. Binder, 79, of Random Lake, passed away Friday, December 30, 2011, at Gables on the Pond in Random Lake. Mardell was born June 4, 1932 in the Town of Scott to Herman and Irma (Theis) Hintz. She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1949 and then attended Nursing School in Milwaukee. On July 7, 1951, Mardell married Donald Binder in Random Lake. Donald passed away on March 1, 2002. She worked as floor manager at Krier Preserving Company in Random Lake for many years. Mardell was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Random Lake and where she was involved with Christian Women. She enjoyed reading her daily devotions, needlepoint, and feeding the birds and squirrels. Mardell always had a full candy drawer for the grandchildren and had a special way of making everyone laugh without even trying. Mardell is survived by: two daughters, Sandi (Roger) Zupke of Fond du Lac and Shelley (Tony) Medinger of Random Lake; three sons, Bob (Diane) Binder of Cape Coral, FL, Rick (Brenda) Binder of Random Lake, and Mark (Julie) Binder of Batavia; 12 grandchildren, Jodi, Patrick, Jeff, and Rachael Helminger, Jason and Jenny Binder, Angie and Brad Depies, Steve and Mike Binder, Erich and Abby Binder; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Joyce Weber of IA; other relatives and friends. Mardell was preceded in death by her: parents; husband, Donald; one daughter, Lynda Depies. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church with Rev. Richard Cerpich officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Random Lake. Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 pm until the time of the Mass Tuesday at the church. A memorial fund has been established in Mardell's name for Hospice Advantage.
