Marcia Ann Sohre, 69, of the Town of Centerville, Manitowoc County, passed away peacefully at her home while surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 23, 2012. Marcia was born on September 26, 1942 in Sheboygan, daughter of Gerald and Jeanette (Oostdyk) Heinen. She was a 1960 graduate of Oostburg High School. On November 30, 1961 she married Daniel E. Sohre in Oostburg. Marcia assisted her husband in their family business. Marcia was a member of Sheboygan Evangelical Free Church where she was active in the Bell Choir and volunteered both at the church and school. She was a member of the Sheboygan Christian Women's Club. Marcia enjoyed using her sewing talents for charity, catering, quilting, camping, boating and traveling. She will always be remembered as a devoted wife and mother. Marcia is survived by her husband of 50 years, Daniel; three daughters, Pamela Wittneben of Oostburg, Melissa (Sherman) Scheidt of Gibbsville, and Danielle (Rich) Welcher of Sheboygan; son, Michael (Eunice) Sohre of Princeton, MN; 17 grandchildren, Cassie (Nate) Ongna, Elena, Raymond V, Jacob, and Ethan Wittneben, Amanda, Gregory, Allison, Jeremiah, and Amy Scheidt, Abram and Annaliese Welcher, Elizabeth (Darren) DeVries, Jessica Sohre, Nicholas (Hannah) Sohre, Terrence and Lydia Sohre; four great-grandchildren, Rylee Ongna, Tamara, Aleah, and Josiah De Vries; three sisters, Judy Shufflebotham of Oostburg, Sylvia (Dwight) Ludens of Oostburg and Janet (Tom) Walcott of Oostburg; four brothers, William (Joan) Heinen of Sheboygan, Gerald "Bud" (Darlene) Heinen of Hingham, David (Carolyn) Heinen of Sheboygan Falls and Rick (Jan) Heinen of Oostburg, sister-in-law, Diane Popovich of Sheboygan and brother-in-law, John (Jeanne) Sohre of Elkhart Lake. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents and one brother-in-law, Gary Shufflebotham. Funeral services to celebrate Marcia's life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the Evangelical Free Church in Sheboygan with Rev. Dr. Gary Hylander officiating. Interment will take place in Hartman Cemetery in the Town of Wilson. Relatives and friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and on Tuesday at church from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. A memorial fund has been established in Marcia's name for Oostburg Christian School and Sheboygan County Christian High School.
