Marcia F. "Marcy" Roerdink, 60, of 541 Clark Street, Cascade, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday morning, June 17, 2009 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls following a lengthy illness. Marcy was born on January 29, 1949 in Madison, the daughter of the late Edward and Velma (Drinkwater) Kicmol. She graduated from Madison East High School in 1967 and received her teaching degree from UW- Whitewater. On November 15, 2004 she married Tom Roerdink in Sheboygan. Marcy was a fourth and fifth grade teacher at Sheboygan Falls Elementary School for 33 years prior to her retirement in 2004. Marcy was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Batavia. She enjoyed flower gardening, bird watching, stamp collecting, traveling, cooking, china painting, and was an avid reader. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting on her swing admiring her flower gardens, the wildlife and the beauty of nature. She is survived by her husband, Tom; two sisters, Susan (Karsten) Mickelson of Nine Mile Falls, WA and Cherre Kicmol of Livingston; two sisters-in-law, Donna (Jim) Smies of Cedar Grove and Mary (Patrick) Gillette of Sheboygan; her mother-in-law, Arlie Roerdink of Cedar Grove; nieces and nephews, Jon (Brandy) Hansen, Jamie (Amanda) Hansen, Todd (Sherry) Swanton, Coreen Zalot, Richard (Lisa) Gillette, Mindy (TJ) Stopar, Becky (Jack) Dulmes, Sara Smies, Anna (Matt) Heinen, David Smies; great nieces and nephews, Josh Swanton, Conner, Lincoln, Annaka Hansen, Journey, Jonathon Hansen Jr., Pieara Zalot, Hugh, Gracie and Gavin Gillette, Faith and Carson Stopar, Katrina Dulmes, Caleb and Abigail Heinen. Marcy is also survived by Kyle (Casey) Yost and their children, Valor and Rozz, and Jason (Trish) Yost and their children, Tyler, Haley, and Aiden Yost. Marcy was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Velma Kicmol and father-in-law, Audley Roerdink. A celebration of Marcy's life will be held at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church located at N1510 State Hwy 28 in Batavia on Monday, June 22, 2009 at 11:30 am with the Rev. Kurt Ziemann officiating. Burial will follow at the Presbyterian Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Friends may greet the family at the church on Monday from 9 am until the time of the service at 11:30 am.
