Marcella A. Gehl, 82, of 453 Hill St., Kohler, died Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at St. Nicholas Hospital. Marcy was born June 4, 1925 in Sheboygan, the daughter of the late Valentine and Agnes Skrube. Marcy was a 1943 graduate of Sheboygan Central High School and graduated from St. John School of Nursing in Springfield, Ill. She was a registered nurse and worked at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital, Kohler Company and Wisconsin Power and Light Co. On May 21, 1949, Marcy married Cornell J. Gehl in Sheboygan. He preceded her in death on July 9, 1999. Marcy was proud of her Slovenian heritage. She was a member of St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Kohler and was a daily Mass attender. A special thank you to her friends in the back row. Marcy was always willing and available to help anyone in need. Her faith and family were very important to her. During this Thanksgiving season, Marcy would want us all to give thanks for God, family and friends. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia (Charles) Lebar of Chicago, Jean (Jeffrey) Wolf of Kohler; one son, Michael (Janet) Gehl of Waupun; nine grandchildren, Britten, Keenan, Christian, Parker, Kendall, Madison and Mackenzie Wolf, Tyler and Mary Gehl; two sisters, Daniela Munnik of Sheboygan, Mitz (Robert) Bartzen of Sheboygan; one sister-in-law, Carol Skrube of Sheboygan; one brother-in-law, Robert Glaeser of Sheboygan; nieces, nephews and many friends. Marcy was preceded in death by her husband, infant granddaughter, Chandler Lebar, two sisters, Agnes Schieble and Julia Glaeser, and a brother, Val Skrube. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Kohler, with the Rev. Robert Lotz, as celebrant. Inurnment will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Kohler. Friends may call at the church on Saturday, from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. A memorial fund will be established in her name for St. John Evangelist Catholic Church. Online condolences may be sent to wenig@wenigfuneralhome.com.
