Mabel J. Greupink, 100, formerly of Cedar Grove died peacefully and went home to her Lord on Wednesday evening, March 12, 2008 at Sunny Ridge Nursing Home where she had resided for the past 3 years. Mabel was born on June 25, 1907 in the Town of Lima, the daughter of the late John and Jennie (Wieberdink) Oonk. She attended Oostburg High School. Following high school, she worked at the Raincoat Factory in Oostburg. Mabel married the late Jesse Greupink at the home of her parents in Oostburg on June 14, 1933. Jesse preceded her in death on August 9, 1985. Mabel was a faithful charter member at Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove. She enjoyed crocheting, playing dominoes and cards, sewing, quilting, gardening, cooking, and baking. Mabel is survived by two daughters, Phyllis (Russ) Wiechmann of Sheboygan Falls, Karen Greupink of Oostburg; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Greupink of Cedar Grove; one son, Leroy (Judy) Greupink of Oostburg; eight grandchildren, Julie and Connie Wiechmann, Krisi (Allen) Mondloch, Timothy (Melissa) Greupink, Scott (Christine) Greupink, Heidi (Daniel) Bizub, Vickie (Timothy) Boehnlein, and Rebekah (Timothy) Taylor; 17 great grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Arline Greupink of Cedar Grove. Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, an infant and Duane Greupink; and four sisters, Minnie Oonk, Delia Huibregtse, Hattie VerStraate, and Elizabeth Oonk. Funeral services will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 11 am, with the Rev Ronald Beabout officiating. Burial will take place at the Presbyterian Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Saturday from 9 am until the time of the service at 11 am.
