Lucille Veldboom

Lucille May Veldboom, 92, of Oostburg, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on Saturday, December 28, 2019.Lucy was born on December 5, 1927, in Town of Holland, WI to William and Lily (Shaver) Simmelink. On February 14, 1948, Lucy married Elmer. Together they owned and operated Elmer and Lucy's Corner Inn for 29 years. Following Elmer's passing, she retired in 1996.She was a member of First Reformed Church of Oostburg. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing, ice skating, socializing, entertaining and making people laugh. Lucy is survived by her daughter, Connie (Jeff Halida) Felde; three sons, Larry (Barbara) Veldboom, Phillip (Pamela) Veldboom, Dennis (Virginia) Veldboom; eight grandchildren, Steve (Vicki), Lorie (Don), Eric, Sherri (Adam), Josh, Jake, Garrett (Jenny), Nichole (Adam); 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lily; husband, Elmer Veldboom; son, Edward Veldboom; grandchild, Jamie Veldboom; two brothers and two sisters. A memorial service to celebrate Lucy's life will be held on Monday, January 6, 2020, at 11:00 am at Wenig Funeral Homes in Oostburg with Pastor Brian Taylor officiating. An inurnment will take place at Hartman Cemetery.Relatives and friends may greet the family at Wenig Funeral Homes in Oostburg on Monday, January 6, 2020 from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.
