Lucille C. Marchand, 87, of Kohler, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at Sunny Ridge Health Care Center. Lucille was born on April 12, 1926, in Beacon Hill, MI, daughter of Albert and Wilhelmina (Tapio) Morin. She attended Houghton High School. On June 14, 1947, she married Hubert Marchand in Lake Linden, MI. Lucille and Hubert recently celebrated their 66th Anniversary. They lived in the Michigan Copper Country for 21 years before moving to Kohler in 1968. Lucille was a member of St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Kohler, where she was active on the funeral lunch committee. She was a member of the Sheboygan County Christian Women, volunteered at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center, and provided childcare for children. Lucille was known for her home baked cookies and zucchini bread. She loved having her family together for celebrations and Sunday dinners. Lucille enjoyed baking, cleaning, traveling, word searches, bingo, and her grandchildren. Lucille is survived by her husband, Hubert; her five daughters, Linda (Robert) Savela of Sheboygan, Carol (Victor) Mertzig of Sheboygan, Kathy (Steve) Buttner of Howards Grove, Susie Marchand of Manitowoc, and Pam (Mike) Meissner of Kellnersville; eleven grandchildren, Shelley (Sean) Henninger, Rob Savela, Josh Mertzig, Amy (Terry) Weber, Eric (Lisa) Specht, Sara (Rick) Sherrod, Greg (special friend Alisha) Brown, Joseph Harris, James Harris, and Andy and Jake Meissner; seven great-grandchildren, Devin Weber, Paige Rastello-Weber, Faith and Peyton Specht, and Brooke, Breanna, and Sage Sherrod; and one brother, Douglas (Annie) Morin of South Range, MI. Lucille is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Ellen Morin and Leona (Paul) Burkman, three brothers, Albert (Gen), Kenneth, and Earl Morin, and one sister-in-law, Anna Morin. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Lucille's life will take place at 12:00 pm on Friday, August 16, 2013, at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Kohler with Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Entombment will take place at Gardens of Peace Mausoleum in the Town of Sheboygan. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at 12:00 pm. A memorial fund has been established in Lucille's name for St. John Evangelist Catholic Church.
