Lona Tupper

Lona Joyce Tupper, 87, of Sheboygan died on Friday afternoon, June 23, 2017 at the Sheboygan Senior Community.Lona was born on May 8, 1930 in California, the daughter of Warren and Dorothea (Groff) DeJean. Lona graduated from Chaffey Union High School in 1948 and Chaffey College in 1951. She married Lester Tupper on March 2, 1968.   He preceded her in death on April 10, 2002.Lona was a member of Grace Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Sheboygan where she was a longtime organist and sang in the choir. She was also a participant of the Salvation Army Bible Study.Lona enjoyed knitting, music, reading, watching the Green Bay Packers. Lona enjoyed reminiscing of her childhood memories in California.Lona is survived by dear church friends. She was particularly fond and appreciative of those who cared for her in special ways, DeLou DeJong, Phyllis Nyhof, Chris Kaeiser, Sara Tenpas, Howard and Audrey Voskuil. A service to celebrate Lona's life will take place at the Chapel at Sunrise Memorial Gardens at 10 am on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 with the Revs. Brian DeJong and Ivan DeMaster officiating.  Entombment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.For online condolences and additional information please visit www.wenigfh.com A memorial fund is being established in her memory for Grace Orthodox Presbyterian Church.The Staff of the Wenig Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
