Lois Grace Grossheim, 92, of Oostburg, died on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Pine Haven Christian Communities-Haven Drive Campus.
Lois G. Debbink was born on September 1, 1929, in the Town of Lima, the daughter of the late John and Lena (Verhulst) Debbink. She attended Gibbsville Grade School, Oostburg High School and Sheboygan Business College.
On October 11, 1952, she married Clinton O. Grossheim at Gibbsville Reformed Church. They then moved to Newport, Rhode Island, for several years during her husband’s time serving in the US Navy. Clinton preceded her in death in July of 2011.
Lois worked in the offices at the H.C. Prange Co. and at Gibbsville Cheese Factory during the Christmas season. She was a very busy mother while raising her five children.
She was a lifelong member of Gibbsville Reformed Church where she was actively involved in many Bible Studies and other groups. She enjoyed bowling, camping, knitting, gardening, spending time at the cottage with her family, and volunteering at the Salvation Army. She was a member of the North Bowl Hall of Fame.
Lois is survived by her two daughters, Mary (Brent) Wykhuis of Oostburg, Ruth (Jeffrey) Saueressig of New Berlin; two sons, David (Teresa) Grossheim of Oostburg and Gary (Patrice) Grossheim of Sheboygan; son-in-law, John Guehna; 15 wonderful grandchildren, Lynn (John) Bonde, Andrew (Niki) Grossheim, Julie (Mike) Genre, Jodi (Carl) Birch, Kelly (Austin) Krier, Eric Guehna, Adam (Abigail) Guehna, Michael (Breanna) Grossheim, Steven (Rachel) Grossheim, Daniel (Kaitlyn) Grossheim, Matthew (Krystal) Wykhuis, Aaron (Megan) Wykhuis, Brandon (Jillian) Saueressig, Nathan Saueressig, and Rachel Saueressig; 20 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Clinton Grossheim; parents; daughter, Bonnie Guehna; infant grandson, Brian Guehna; two sisters, Nelda (Carl) Nyenhuis, Gertrude (James) VanStelle.
Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 pm at Gibbsville Church on Wednesday, December 15th with Rev. David Krueger officiating. Visitation will take place from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm. All are welcome to join via livestream by visiting Lois’ obituary page at www.wenigfh.com . Lois will be laid to rest by her husband at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made in her name.
