Lloyd J. Hoitink, 86, of 610 Mark Avenue, Sheboygan Falls, died Saturday morning, August 1, 2009 at St. Nicholas Hospital. Lloyd was born on July 14, 1923 in the Town of Holland, the son of the late Barend William and Delia (Prange) Hoitink. He attended Hoard School in the Town of Holland. Lloyd married the late Delores Veldman on April 11, 1945 in the Town of Sheboygan Falls. She preceded him in death on November 3, 2008. Lloyd was a farmer and a self employed carpenter for many years. He also worked at Hopeman Implement in Hingham for several years and was an insurance agent for Wilson Mutual Insurance Co. for many years. Lloyd was currently a member of First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls and was a longtime member at Hingham Reformed Church. While at Hingham Reformed Church he was a deacon, elder and chaired the building committee during the church construction. He also volunteered with Wycliffe Bible Translators, Sowers Ministry, Campus Life, and attended the Senior Citizen groups in Plymouth and Adell. He enjoyed woodworking, plastic canvas projects, word puzzles, traveling with his motor home, and volunteering wherever needed. He is survived by two daughters, Joyce (Allen) Kuhlow of Hingham, and Luann (Glenn) Harmelink of Marshalltown, Iowa; two sons, Perry (Cindy) Hoitink of Oostburg and Paul (Sylvia) Hoitink of Plymouth; eight grandchildren, Jon (Fehmida) Kuhlow, Terrill Harmelink, Jessica (Jay) Hoskins, Jennifer Hoitink, Jarred Hoitink, Chad (Kristen) Hoitink, Paula (Louie) Gentine, and Sara (Daniel) Infusino; ten great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Gertrude Graaskamp of Cedar Grove, and Sharon (Ronald) Petrauski of Sheboygan; and two brothers-in-law, Willard (LaVerne) Veldman and Howard Bimmel, both of Sheboygan Falls. Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Delores; two granddaughters, Heidi Harmelink and Stephanie Kuhlow; two brothers, Reuben Hoitink and Harry (Mildred) Hoitink; one sister-in-law, Helen Bimmel; and two brothers-in-law, LaMont Huenink and Winifred Graaskamp. Funeral service will take place at the Hingham Reformed Church at 2 pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 with the Rev Brad Veenendaal officiating. A family service will precede at 1:45 pm in the choir room. Burial will follow at Hingham Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Monday from 4-8pm and on Tuesday, at church, from 1pm until the time of the service at 2 pm.
