Lloyd G. "Kewpie"Ebbers, of Oostburg died on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the Clement J. Zablocki Veteran Hospital in Milwaukee following complications from surgery. Lloyd was born on January 27, 1932 in Sheboygan, the son of the late Harvey J. and Esther (Dulmes) Ebbers. Lloyd attended Sheboygan Falls and Oostburg High Schools. He served in the US Army from 1950-53. Lloyd married Vivian Snieder on June 14, 1955 in Souix Center, Iowa. He was a truck driver for many years working for numerous different companies. Lloyd was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg where he served as an usher and greeter. Lloyd enjoyed golf, baseball, football, dogs and woodworking. Vivian and Lloyd enjoyed their winters in Arizona and cherished the time they could spend with their grandchildren. Lloyd is survived by his wife of 58 years, Vivian; two daughters, Faith (Glen) DeYoung of Grand Rapids, MI and Hope (Tim) Heinen of Oostburg; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Bolling, Elizabeth, Philip, and Rachelle DeYoung, Zachary and Brandon Winkel; one great grandson, Christopher Bolling; two step grandchildren, Amanda (Angel) Rodriguez and Kristin Heinen; three step great grandchildren, Sofia, Isaac, and Royce Rodriguez; one brother, Kenneth (Gladys) Ebbers of Oostburg. He is also survived by nephews. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, an infant, Ruth Ebbers and Lillian (Cliff) Damkot. A celebration of his life will be held at the First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg at 11 am on Friday, January 17, 2014 with the Rev. Tom Pettinga officiating. Burial and Military Honors will take place at Union Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Family and friends will gather at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Thursday from 4-8 pm, and on Friday, at church, from 10 am until the time of the service at 11 am.
