Lloyd A. Debbink, 79, of Cedar Grove went home to His Lord on Sunday evening, July 14, 2013. Lloyd was born on June 14, 1934 in Sheboygan, the son of Herbert and Mildred (Hilbelink) Debbink. He attended Oostburg High School. On October 15, 1954 Lloyd married Harriet TerMaat in Hingham. Lloyd worked at Wilman Industries for 44 years before his retirement in 1999. Following his retirement he worked part-time at Times Printing in Random Lake for five years. Lloyd was an active member of Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove where he served as elder, Sunday School Supt. and sang with the choir and Praise Team. He was a founding member of the Hingham Little League, served on the Pine Haven Board and sang with the Pine Haven Men's Chorus. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working, traveling, playing fast-pitch baseball, bicycling, and gardening. Lloyd loved music and could be found by the sound of his whistle. He cherished the time he could spend with his children and grandchildren. Lloyd and Harriet were foster parents to six children. Lloyd is survived by his wife of 58 years, Harriet; four daughters, Barbara (Cliff) Teunissen of Oostburg, Laurel (friend Jim Moschetz) Smith of Wauwatosa, Patty DeBlaey of Sheboygan, Sarah Debbink of Oostburg; one foster son, Nathaniel (Shelly) Greene of California; 10 grandchildren, Sherri (Marty) Halverson, Douglas (Kelly) Teunissen, Peggy Ruh, Curtis (Sheila) Teunissen, Fred Smith, Greg Smith, Jenny Dirks, Steve DeBlaey, Nathan Greene and Samantha Greene; 19 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; three sisters-in-law, Dolly Debbink of Cedar Grove, Helen (Gordon) Veldboom of Oostburg, Cindy (Steve) Heinen of Sheboygan; two brothers-in-law, Richard (Helen) TerMaat of Grand Rapids and David (Mary) TerMaat, of Oostburg; and one aunt Pearl Hilbelink of Cedar Grove. Lloyd is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Mildred Debbink, parents-in-law, John and Margaret TerMaat; one sister, Audrey (Ray) VanStelle; three brothers, an infant, Wayne, and Roland Debbink. A funeral to celebrate Lloyd's life will take place at Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove at 10:30 am on Thursday July 18, 2013 with the Rev. Ron Sanford officiating. Burial will take place at the Hingham Cemetery in the Town of Lima. Family and friends will gather at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Wednesday from 4-8 pm, and at church, on Thursday from 9 am until the time of the service at 10:30 am.
