Linda Gildemeister

Linda J. Gildemeister, 57, of Random Lake died on Sunday morning, November 9, 2014 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center. Linda was born on August 15, 1957 in Sheboygan, the daughter of George and Carol (Walvoord) Van Sluys. She graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 1975. On October 9, 1976 Linda married Edwin G. Gildemeister in Random Lake. Linda was an accomplished poet and authored two poetry books: Poetic Pathways Volume 1 & Volume 2 Poetry of Love. She also enjoyed baking, old movies, old style country western and classical music. Linda is survived by her husband of 38 years, Edwin of Random Lake; one daughter, Harmonie (Dale) Foster of Muncie, IN; three sons, Adam Gildemeister of Milwaukee, Jonathan Gildemeister of Brillion, and Lance Gildemeister of Random Lake; three grandchildren, Dale, Anthony and Alexandra Foster; her mother, Carol Van Sluys of Sheboygan Falls; four sisters, Sharon Van Sluys of Madison, JoAnn (Rev. Stephen) Dietzler of Wisconsin Rapids, Sandra (Mike) Reisenaur of Sheboygan, and Sue (Tom) Wolinski of Green Valley, AZ. Linda was preceded in death by her father, George Van Sluys. Private graveside services were held at the Oostburg Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Rev. Kent Vant Hul presided.
