Lillian J. Wissink, 92, of Cedar Grove died on Tuesday morning, February 3, 2015 at the Cedar Grove Gardens where she was surrounded by her family. Lillian was born on June 18, 1922 in the Town of Holland, the daughter of Henry and Jennie (Kooman) Brasser. She graduated from Oostburg High School in 1939. On September 25, 1943 she married Douglas Wissink in Gibbsville. He preceded her in death on March 21, 1991. Lillian worked at Musebeck Shoe Co. for several years and then for the H.C. Prange Co in Sheboygan for over 20 years before her retirement. Lillian was a devoted and active member of the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove where she was part of the Mary Esther Circle, taught Sunday School for over 50 years, sang in the choir and was very instrumental in the ongoing mission ministry of the church. She was also active in The Other Way Ministry in Michigan. Lillian enjoyed gardening, growing roses, quilting, bird watching, traveling and sewing. Lillian enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren. Lillian is survived by her daughter, Shirley VanStelle of Sheboygan; five grandchildren, Pam (Carl) Hopeman, Debbie Jensen, LuAnn (Mark) Ziegler, Andy and Ben Wilterdink; ten great grandchildren; one sister, Marian (Walter) Hildebrand of Sheboygan; one brother, Wayne (Lynn) Brasser of Waldo; and one sister-in-law, Rose Duenk of Oostburg. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband and one sister-in-law. A funeral to celebrate Lillian's life will take place at the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 11 am with the Rev. Ronald Sanford officiating. Burial will take place at the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at the church on Friday from 9 am until the time of the service at 11 am.
