Lillian M. Walvoort, 84, of Oostburg, died on Saturday night, February 15, 2014, at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center where she had been a patient since Thursday. Lillian was born on September 22, 1929, in Sheboygan, the daughter of James P. and Adriana (Van de Repe) Dekker. She attended Sheboygan Christian School and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1947. On July 11, 1951, she married Robert H. Walvoort in Sheboygan. Lillian was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg and belonged to various Ladies Circles. Lillian was primarily a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She also worked part time at Tolibia Cheese and Larsen Canning Co. She was an accomplished seamstress who sewed the majority of the clothing for their family. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, flowers, fishing, playing cards and board games and watching the Green Bay Packers. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert of Oostburg; three daughters, Ellen (Dennis) Covel of Wichita, KS, Marjorie "Marge" (Lyle) Faber of Escondido, CA, Sandra Kroese of Hull, IA; three sons, Ronald (Lynn) of Oostburg, Kenneth (Judy) of Sioux Center, IA, and Robert A. (Shara) Walvoort of Oostburg; 21 grandchildren, Levi (Christina), Luke, Aaron (Jessica), Reuben Faber, Katie (Brian) Wieringa, Andrew (Samantha), Jane, Ben Kroese, Garrett, Adrianna (fiancé Luke Ganz), Richard, Timothy Walvoort, Peter (fiancé Brianna Evink) Walvoort, Amy (Jeremy) Jensema, Jessica Walvoort, Anthony, Reuben, Shana, Camber, Monet, and Lincoln Walvoort; 7 great grandchildren, two sisters, Kathryn Otte of Sheboygan and Mary Ann Prinsen of Cedar Grove; one sister-in-law, Lillian Dekker of Sheboygan; and two brothers-in-law, Glenn (Nancy) Walvoort of Sheboygan Falls and George (Lennis) Walvoort of Tennessee. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Kevin Kroese; one sister Jane (Dr. BJ) Boerkoel; one brother Peter Dekker; and two brothers-in-law Henry Otte and Warren Prinsen. A funeral to celebrate Lillian's life will be held at the First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at 11 am with the Rev. Tom Pettinga officiating. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Family and friends will gather at the church on Monday from 4-8 pm, and on Tuesday from 10 am until the time of the service at 11 am.
