Lillian Joann Schreurs, 95, of Cedar Grove, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday night, May 21, 2015 at Cedar Grove Gardens. Lillian was born on January 7, 1920 in the Town of Lima to Harry & Jennie (Preder) Wensink. She attended Sheboygan Falls High School. On September 16, 1938 she married Harold Navis and he preceded her in death on February 23, 1958. On December 5, 1959 she married Junior Schreurs in Sheboygan Falls. He preceded her in death on April 7, 2005. Lillian worked at Dutchland Plastics for 12 years prior to her retirement in 1984. Previously, Lillian owned and operated Navis Restaurant in Sheboygan Falls from 1957 to 1967. She was also a waitress at Homestead Restaurant in Cedar Grove for 5 years. Lillian was a faithful member of Calvary OPC in Cedar Grove and the Dorcas Society. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, baking, cooking, watching birds, listening to the Milwaukee Brewers and spending time with family and friends. Lillian is survived by her two daughters, Karen (Dale) Neustel of Portage, Michigan, LuAnn (Don) Teunissen of Cedar Grove; one son, David (Bev) Navis of Sheboygan Falls; nine grandchildren, Deborah (Joe) Hocking, Wendy (Kent) Tong, Jeffrey (Ann) Neustel, Susan (David) Reid, Michelle (Scott) Kelley, Brian Navis, Matthew (Julie) Teunissen, JoAnn (Joel) Davies, Julie (Matt) Boomsma; 19 great grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren; and one sister Dorothy Carolan of Sun Prairie. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Beverley TenHaken of Cedar Grove; one brother-in-law, Roland TenHaken of Cedar Grove; step grandchildren;, step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Lillian was preceded in death by her two husbands; Harold Navis, Junior Schreurs; and her two brothers, Clarence (Alyce) Wensink, Ellsworth (Margaret) Wensink; and a brother-in-law, Andrew Carolan. A funeral service to celebrate Lillian's life will be on Monday, May 25, 2015 at 11 am at Calvary OPC in Cedar Grove with Rev. Kent Vant Hul officiating. Burial will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Relatives and friends may gather at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Sunday from 3-6 pm, and on Monday, at church from 10 am until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established for the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center and Calvary OPC.
