Lee Martin

Lee N. Martin, 80, of Random Lake and Cheeseville, passed away on Thursday morning, August 11, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Sheboygan where he had resided for the past year. Lee was born on July 7, 1931 in Wittenberg, WI, son of Ted and Blanche (Duray) Sliwicki. On November 12, 1960 he married Marlene Richards in Duluth, MN. Lee was employed in sales for Taylor Electric in Mequon for 35 years until his retirement in 1993. He worked as an auctioneer for over 20 years. Lee also owned Archie's Place Tavern in Little Kohler from 1980-84. Lee was a member of the Newburg Lions Club and the Fillmore Historical Society. Lee enjoyed gardening, flowers, fishing, birds, playing cards, bowling, softball and watching the Green Bay Packers. Lee is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marlene, a resident of Golden Living Center in Sheboygan;; three daughters, Debbie Buss of Tigerton, Kim (Brent) Evanenko of Random Lake and Sandra Martin of Sheboygan; eight grandchildren, Amanda (partner Jesse) Kimball, Jennifer Fulks, Sara (fiancé Chris) Martin, Mitchell Martin, Maggie Martin, Christopher (Melissa) Rosenow, Eric (Jackie) Rosenow, and Kyle (fiancé Tiffany) Rosenow; nine great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Casper, Tristan Kimball, Michael, Carter and Lucas Fulks, Presley, Cole, Kade and Kailey Rosenow; two sisters, Alice (Larry) Boe of Brookfield and Linda Remington of Clintonville; nieces and cousins. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, step father, Lloyd Kisling; an infant son, Joseph Martin; a son-in-law, Larry Buss; his brother, Herbert (Nancy) Sliwicki; and a brother-in-law, Darryl Remington. Funeral services to celebrate Lee's life will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 10:30 am at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg with the Rev. Jon Nauman officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of the service at 10:30 am. A memorial fund has been established in Lee's name for the Newburg Lions Club and the Alzheimer and Related Disorders Assoc.
