Lawrence Manthey

Lawrence Manthey, 86, of Sheboygan, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012, at Sheboygan Senior Community. Lawrence was born August 10, 1926, in Mayville, WI, the youngest of 12 children, to Edward and Maria (Rohrschneider) Manthey. On October 18, 1947 he married Jane Schommer in Eden, WI. Jane passed away December 23, 1993. Lawrence worked at Kohler Company for 36 years, retiring in 1991. He married Eugenie (Stockinger) Meyer on August 27, 1994 in Sheboygan Falls. Lawrence was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls, where he served as an usher. He was also a member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club, D'Werdenfelser Dance Club, and a retired UAW Member Local 833. Lawrence enjoyed hunting, his hunting dogs, fishing, gardening (he took great pride in his flowers), and bird watching. He enjoyed helping friends with seasonal farming. Lawrence is survived by his: wife Eugenie of Sheboygan; two daughters, Sandy (Patrick) Finnerty of Middleton and Mary Lou Ellinghausen of New Berlin; two grandsons, Wayne Ellinghausen III and Adam Ellinghausen; one daughter-in-law, Gail (Bob) Ternes of Sheboygan; two step-nephews, Anthony (Teresa) Eisner of Sheboygan and David Eisner of Sheboygan; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lawrence was preceded in death by his: parents; first wife, Jane; two sons, Jeffrey and Richard; 11 brothers and sisters. Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Lawrence's life will be at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Entombment will be in Gardens of Peace Mausoleum, Greenlawn Memorial Park, in the Town of Sheboygan. Relatives and friends may greet Lawrence's family from 10:00 am until the time of the Mass Wednesday at the church. A memorial fund is being established in Lawrence's name for English Setter Rescue or Sheboygan County Audubon Society.
