Larry W. Reetz, 73, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Monday evening, May 15, 2017, at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.Larry was born on July 4, 1943, in Wausau, son of Warren "Mike" Sr. and Bernice (Hopp) Reetz. He served in the US Air Force from 1962-1965. On November 25, 1967, he married Kathy Kurtz in Wausau. Larry worked as a Residential Care Provider at Willowglen Academy in Plymouth for 19 years until his retirement in 2009. Larry was a faithful member of Hope Reformed Church in Sheboygan, where he served as an elder, and he volunteered at the First Hope Community Meal. He enjoyed meeting at Johnston's Bakery on Monday and Friday's for a guy's coffee clutch and tooling around on his 1982 Harley Davidson golf cart and his pontoon boat. Family was everything to Larry, especially spending time with his granddaughters and his faithful companion, Abby. Larry also enjoyed fishing and hunting, taking care of his yard, gardening and growing roses, bird watching, feeding the birds, collecting eagles, and going to the cottage on the Menomonee River.Larry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kathy; his son, Randy (Tina) Reetz of Sheboygan Falls; his daughter, Ronda (Roy) Oppenheimer of Sheboygan Falls; four grandchildren, Ally Mason, Ashley Reetz, Luke and Emily Oppenheimer; one brother, Warren Jr. (Carol) Reetz; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill Seidler, Karolyn (Jim) Schroeder, Randolph Kurtz, Harvey (Yvonne Larme) Kurtz, Gary (Kathy) Kurtz, Cynthia (Michael) Woloshuk, and Theresa Tesch. Larry is further survived by his nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Warren "Mike" Sr. and Bernice Reetz, parents-in-law, Walter and Henrietta Kurtz, two sisters, Arvada Geier and Elaine "Peachie" Seidler, and brother-in-law, Rollie Tesch.A memorial service to celebrate Larry's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Hope Reformed Church, 612 Ontario Avenue, in Sheboygan with Rev. Bill TeWinkle officiating. Inurnment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park in the Town of Sheboygan.
