LaMonte Dulmes

LaMonte H. Dulmes, 95, formerly of Adell, died on Monday night, February 28, 2011 at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls where he had resided since 2004. LaMonte was born on December 28, 1915 in Adell, the son of the late Garret and Dora (Eernissee) Dulmes. He graduated from the Wisconsin Memorial Academy in Cedar Grove in 1934 and then attended the Sheboygan Business College. LaMonte was in the US Army as a sergeant with the 32nd division serving in the South Pacific from 1941-45. On April 12, 1952 he married the late Minnie Mae Brehm in Hingham. She preceded him in death on December 23, 2008. LaMonte was postmaster and a rural carrier for the US Postal Service in Adell from 1954 until this retirement in 1981. LaMonte was a lifelong member of the Hingham Reformed Church and the American Legion Post #462 in Adell. LaMonte is survived by his son-in-law, David Such of Cascade; his grandson, Traverse Luke Such of Cascade; a sister, Ruth Dekker of Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls; numerous nieces and nephews. LaMonte was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Mae; a daughter, Patricia Dulmes Such; six sisters, Clara (Harry) Rauwerdink, Mabel (Eugene) Simms, Henrietta (Elmer) Lubbers, Florence (William) TenHaken, Mildred (Dr. Edward) Hougen, Dorothy (Clayton) Voskuil; four brothers, two infants, Abraham (Vera) Dulmes and John (Mary Ellen) Dulmes; and a brother-in-law, Donald Dekker. Funeral services will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Thursday, March 3, 2001 at 11 am with the Rev. Steven J. Bakker officiating. Burial will take place at the Hingham Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Thursday from 9 am until the time of the service at 11am.
