LaMont Lammers

June 5, 1930 — December 3, 2015

LaMont G. Lammers, 85, of Cedar Grove entered his heavenly home on December 3, 2015 while at the Cedar Grove Gardens. LaMont was born on June 5, 1930, the son of the late H. John and Florence (TenDollen) Lammers. He attended Cedar Grove area schools and graduated from Cedar Grove High school in 1948. LaMont served in the US Army with the 712th Engineering Co and played baseball and basketball for the 5th Army Division from 1948-50. As a pitcher he later played in the minor league for several years. On October 30, 1953 he married Mariann Wisse, the daughter of the late George and Kathryn (Roelse) Wisse in Cedar Grove. In October, LaMont and Mariann celebrate their 62nd wedding anniversary. They made their home at 913 South Main Street in Cedar Grove all of their married lives-62 years. LaMont worked at PCM in Port Washington, worked in maintenance for the Cedar Grove Schools and Richardson Lumber. In retirement he worked on Saturdays at the Cedar Grove Recycling Center. LaMont was a member of Calvary OPC in Cedar Grove. He served as trustee for Calvary OPC and was a board member for Pine Haven Christian Home. LaMont bought a 1923 Model T touring car and restored it. He chauffeured the Victorian dressed ladies to Mariann's Victorian Tea Lunches for several years. He also enjoyed woodworking. LaMont is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mariann; one daughter, Jan Urban of Centennial, CO; two sons, Karl (Lyn) Lammers of Villa Park, IL and Mark (Barbara) Lammers of Delphi, IN; eight grandchildren, Seth (Chelsea) Urban, Sam Urban, Hannah Urban, Joshua (Jenna) Lammers, Aaron (Christie) Lammers, Jacob Lammers, Abigail Lammers and Isaac Lammers; and two great granddaughters, Evelyn and Kaylana Lammers. La Mont is also survived by two brothers-in-law, Eugene (Sharon) Wisse of Oostburg and A. Glenn (Lorraine) Lemmenes, of Sheboygan Falls. LaMont was preceded in death by his parents, H. John and Florence Lammers; his parents-in-law, George and Kathryn Wisse; one brother Norman (Clara) Lammers; one sister, Judith (Wm) Vrubley; a sister-in-law, Priscilla (Wisse) Lemmenes; and a niece Kathleen (Lammers) Ingersol. A funeral to celebrate LaMont's life will take place at the Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove on Monday, December 7, 2015 at noon with the Rev. David Cornette officiating. Burial will take place at Presbyterian Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Family and friends will gather at the Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church on Monday from 10 am until the time of the service at noon.
