Kyong Cha "Kay" Ten Haken Kyong Cha "Kay" Ten Haken, 68, of 843 Park Ave., Oostburg, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Kay was born on February 7, 1941 in South Korea. On October 26, 1965 she married Roger A. Ten Haken (US Army) at the American Embassy. She came to the United States in spring of 1966 and obtained her naturalization citizenship in 1975. Kay worked 10 years at Ebenrieter Woodworking and another 10 years at the Cedar Grove Canning Companies, retiring in 1997. Kay enjoyed fishing, travel, her collection of Korean tapes and after retirement, babysitting time with her granddaughters. She was a member of the First Reformed Church in Oostburg. She was a loving wife of 43 years, mother and grandmother. Kay is survived by her husband, Roger; two sons, Allan (Jennifer) Ten Haken of Milwaukee, Dennis (Kristen) Ten Haken of Oostburg; three grandchildren, Marissa, Sydney, and Braden; two sisters-in-law, Joan Greiling of North Carolina and Dianne (Richard) Staabs of Sheboygan; and her father-in-law, Melvin Ten Haken of Sheboygan. She is preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Marion and her third son, Dale Ten Haken. Funeral services will take place at the First Reformed Church, 927 Superior Ave., Oostburg on Monday, April 27, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Brian Taylor, officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery with lunch to follow at the church. Visitation for Kay will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home, 108 Center Ave., Oostburg on Sunday, April 26, 2009 from 3-6 p.m. and at church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. A memorial fund will be established in her name. Kay's family would like to express their appreciation for the compassionate care given by the Lombardi Cancer Clinic, Sheboygan, and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. The staff of the Wenig Funeral Home of Oostburg (920-564-2771) is serving the Ten Haken family.
