Kenneth James Michael Freitag, 79, of Glenbeulah passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at his home. Ken was born on February 25, 1936 to Sylvester and Loretta (Reider) Freitag. He attended Sheboygan Falls High School. On March 24, 1984 he married Linda Neustel in Waukegan, IL. Throughout the years Ken worked in injecting molding maintenance for Ametek, Bemis and retired from Ultradent in Utah in 2004. Ken was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Greenbush. He enjoyed woodworking, tinkering, hunting, fishing, traveling and remodeling their cottage. Ken loved his sweets, especially strawberry shortcake and chocolate covered cherries. Ken and Linda were foster parents for 3 foster children. Ken is survived by his wife of 31 years, Linda; his children, Mike (Samantha) Freitag of Tucson, AZ, Doreen (Ed) Elling of Scottsdale, AZ, Lynn (Dan) Gilbertson of Cedar Park, TX, Jodi (Todd) Hibma of Vicksburg, MI, Suzanne (Edward) Gilligan of Howards Grove and Kevin (Melissa) Fleck of Plymouth; grandchildren, Amy (Dan) Traher, Rebecca (Charles) Kolker, Christopher Freitag, Ryan and Shannon Gilbertson, David (Stephanie) Prellwitz, Randii and Casey Hibma, Andrew Vinje, Kayla and Emily Gilligan, Mason, Gage and Paxton Fleck; great grandchildren, Charles and Elizabeth Kolker, Harry Traher, Lily, LeeRoy, Aeden and Isaiah Hibma; 2 brothers-in-law, Harry (Margaret) Neustel and Dale (Karen) Neustel; 1 sister-in-law, Marcia Neustel; his faithful furry companion, Sassy. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother-in-law, Harry and Martha Neustel, brothers and sisters, Blaze, Joan, Paul and Gail, great grandson Ian and 3 nephews. A funeral service to celebrate Ken's life will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 11am at New Hope United Methodist Church in Greenbush with Rev. Henry Verfuerth officiating. Relatives and friends may gather at New Hope United Methodist Church on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 from 5-7pm and again on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 from 10am until the time of service at 11am. A memorial fund is being established in Ken's name.
