Keith Dale Carpenter, 67, of 534 Sunset Maple, Sheboygan Falls died at his home on Sunday morning, May 17, 2009. Keith was born on April 9, 1942 in the Town of Jackson, Washington County, Wisconsin; the son of the late Dale and Pearl (Warner) Carpenter. He graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1960. Keith served in the US Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis serving on the USS Kankakee from 1960-63. On February 6, 1965, Keith married Shirley Lorenz at St. Rose Catholic Church in the Town of Lima. Keith worked as a mason for Mike Koenig Construction Co. before his retirement in 2004. He also was a bartender for over 50 years, including at their family business, Dale's Bar. He was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Parrish in Sheboygan Falls, and was co-founder of Sheboygan Falls United Football League. Keith was an avid softball and baseball player and fan. He was inducted into the Sheboygan Softball Hall of Fame in August of 2007. He enjoyed all sports, playing golf, bowling, playing cards, shaking dice, shooting pool, and camping with his family. He and Shirley were members of a Packer Club. Keith cherished spending time with his family and many friends. Keith was affectionately known as "Uncle Butch" to some of his family. Keith is survived by his wife, Shirley; three daughters, Wendy, (Wayne) Schlosser of Waukesha, Angela (Bob) Scheibl of Sheboygan Falls, and Karen (Marcus) Knuth of Kohler; two sons, Corey (Julie) Carpenter of Milwaukee and Lee (Stacy) Carpenter of Sheboygan Falls; twelve grandchildren, Amanda, Abbigale, and Austin Schlosser, Sydney and Samuel Scheibl, Alex Johnston, Lucas and Carter Knuth, Alicia, Rhettt, and Gavin Carpenter, and Brooke Carpenter; two sisters, Marilyn Nelson of California and Harriett Klister of Sheboygan; one brother, Lynn Carpenter, of Sheboygan, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Pearl Carpenter; parents-in-law, Hugo and Florence Lorenz; two grandchildren, Erin Carpenter, and Robbie Scheibl; one sister, Sharon (Edward) Lensmire; and two brothers-in-law, William Nelson and Iggy Klister. A Memorial Mass will be held at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 1 pm with the Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. The family will greet guests at church on Thursday from 10 am until the time of the Mass at 1 pm.
