Kathleen Gale Johnson, 80, of Waldo, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016 while a resident at Rocky Knoll Healthcare Center. Kathleen was born on October 4, 1936 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Harold and Iva (Larry) Schiller. She attended Central High School in Sheboygan. In April of 1954, she married Niles VanDeLoo. On April 14, 1984, Kathleen married James A. Johnson in New Holstein. James preceded her in death in September of 1984. In addition to raising her children as a caring mother, Kathleen worked at Bemis Manufacturing in Sheboygan Falls. Kathleen was a life member of the Bahá'í Faith. Her hobbies included bingo, fishing, watching the Green Bay Packers, and traveling. Kathleen is survived by her longtime companion James Jones of Waldo; three sons, LaMonte (Ronda) VanDeLoo of Sheboygan, Robert VanDeLoo of Sheboygan, and Brian (Patricia) VanDeLoo of Elkhart Lake; two daughters, Karen VanDeLoo of Plymouth, and Lisa Olivas of Sheboygan; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carol (DeWayne) Merget of Town of Meeme, and Donna (Keith) Herbst of Sheboygan; three loving nieces, Rhonda, Lisa and Pamela; and a niece-in-law, Lynn (James) Spaeth. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, first and second husbands, one niece, Melissa Herbst; and one grandson, Jamie Olivas. A Bahá'í Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at 11:30am at Sunrise Memorial Gardens Chapel in the Town of Wilson. Family and friends will gather at the chapel on Tuesday from 11:15am until the time of service at 11:30am. A memorial fund is being established in her name. The staff of the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls (920-467-3431) is serving Kathleen's family.
