Kathleen Black

Kathleen R. Black, 73, of Sheboygan Falls passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Sharon S Richardson Community Hospice. Kathleen was born on November 7, 1942, in Sheboygan to Herman and Hildegarde (Schaller) Maurer. She was a 1960 graduate of Plymouth High School. Kathleen was married to Vernon Schlichting and they had 3 children together. On May 19, 1973 she married Billy Black in Kiel, WI. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1995. Kathleen worked as a waitress and cook for various restaurants throughout Sheboygan county and most recently worked as a steward for the American Club. Kathleen was a member of Zion ECC Church in Sheboygan. She enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, needlework and playing cribbage. Kathleen also liked to watch bowling, football and golf. Kathleen is survived by her 3 children, Vicki Regan of Sheboygan, Craig Schlichting of Sheboygan and Lynn (Brian) Schukow of MN; 4 step children, Virginia (Dale) Schlais of New London, Cheryl (John) Karls of IL, Terry (Linda) Black of Sheboygan and David Black of Sheboygan; 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth (Helen) Maurer of Sheboygan Falls. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Billy, one sister, Mary Jane Martin and one son-in-law, Thomas Regan. A funeral service to celebrate Kathleen's life will be on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 12pm (noon) at Zion ECC Church in Sheboygan with Rev. Chris McKnight officiating. Burial will be at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Relatives and friends may gather on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Zion ECC Church from 10am until the time of service at noon. A memorial fund to the American Cancer Society is being established in Kathleen's name. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Sharon S.
