Karen A. Kretschmann, 62, of W2431 Ourtown Road, Sheboygan Falls, died at her home on Sunday evening, September 30, 2007. She was born July 6, 1945 in Sheboygan, the daughter of the late Lambert and Mae (Steinhardt) Schaller. Karen was a 1963 graduate of Sheboygan South High School. On October 5, 1963, she married the late Richard A. Kretschmann in Sheboygan. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2005. Karen worked at the Kohler Credit Union from 1981 until her retirement in 2005. She was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls. Karen was a member of SHRM and the MRA. She was a leader for Cub Scouts and Campfire Girls, and was librarian for St. Mary School. Karen enjoyed family, crafts, flowers, quilting, painting and gardening. Survivors include two daughters, Julie (Jeff) Williams of Rochester, Minn., Vicky (Chris) Willadsen of Waldo; one son, Rick Kretschmann of Sheboygan Falls; six grandchildren, Matthew and Evan Williams, Jason and Mandy Willadsen, Krista and Kari Kretschmann; three sisters, Kathryn Schaller of Sheboygan, Mary Lee Schaller of Sheboygan, Susie Halverson of Sheboygan; one sister-in-law, Helen Schaller of Villa Park, Ill.; one brother, Jack (Claudia) Schaller of Oostburg; other relatives and friends. Karen was preceded in death by her husband, parents, step mother, Georgia Schaller; one brother, Tom Schaller, and a brother-in-law, Leon Halverson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Parish, with the Rev. Robert Lotz, as celebrant. Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Tuesday (TODAY) October 2, 2007 from 4-8 p.m. and on Wednesday, at church, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. A memorial fund will be established in her name for the Ronald McDonald House, 850 Second Street SW, Rochester, MN 55902. Online condolences may be sent to wenig@wenigfuneralhome.com.
